They won! They won! After 24 years of waiting, I can finally call my Cardinals "WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!" Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhooooooo
Now it's true, they had a lot of help from Detroit's lack of clutch hitting and, yes, BAFFLING display of their pitchers throwing the ball into the outfield on 5 separate occasions. But they took full advantage of the Tigers' miscues, and the icing on the cake was David Eckstein getting the MVP. That little dude is a hero to all of us vertically challenged individuals - and he sure stepped it up and led the Cards to victory. But not enough can be said about Jeff Weaver's masterful pitching performance last night. What a shock and surprise throughout the playoffs that he pitched so well. I only hope the the Cards don't offer him a long term contract.
So now I can proverbially roll over and go to sleep, basking in the afterglow of releasing 24 years of pent up tension.
The bad news is now I only have to think about the Dolphins. Oh god, the Dolphins. *sob, sob*
